The batting average of the manager is the ratio between the number of periods where the manager outperforms a benchmark and the total number of periods. In other words,

        Batting Average = numOutperform / numTotal

    where

        numOutperform = number of periods where the return of the manager is greater than the                                   return of the benchmark

        numTotal = total number of periods selected
